Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services (EMPS)

Dial 211 is a toll-free, confidential service connecting child and families to a EMPS counselor to help resolve behavioral or emotional crisis, at home, in school, wherever help is needed. They provide support to up to 6 weeks and help connect the child/ family to other services.

*Mentoring is the establishment of a relationship between a mentor (an adult, a corporate volunteer, a role model, a trusted counselor, or a teacher) and a mentee (a youngster identified as “on the brink of success”). The mentor’s role is that of a caring adult who will listen attentively to a child. These children may lack self-esteem, motivation, strong role models or socialization skills.
